there were you and me
the city was just woken up and so were we
got off the train in the daybreak
we saw the pathways and the bright yellow flowers
we saw the tubes and the red double-deckers
the capital was lost itself in a hustle-bustle
maybe years from now we will still remember
all the steps we took from morning til evening
all the stories we shared beside the river Thames
all the laughs that sounded like the fall of London rain
the days we were no longer strangers
