It means that I should prevent myself from spending too much time pondering the proximity between us. For listening to your voice singing in the room next door, or hearing the sound of your peculiar steps outside my window, or smelling the scent of vodka and gin when you walk by, surely will draw a trace of meaning only me understands. The meaning that would leave me feels like standing between the edges.
For being close to you, each and every day, means I would spend too much time pretending I am busy making tea while I try so hard to decide whether I will stay where you are or go back to my room, close the door, and feel sorry for not being there.
